Good mattresses are like a holiday for your back
Soon millions of Germans will once again be heading off to their holiday destinations to relax and unwind. Good sleep is an important prerequisite for this. And indeed, many people sleep much better on holiday than at home.
This is often due to the good quality of the bed in the holiday home. If you actually sleep better on it than at home, you should definitely put your mattress at home to the test and think about buying a new one. After all, it has been proven that the quality of the bed system is directly linked to poor sleep and the occurrence of back pain.
A good mattress usually lasts eight to ten years. However, cheap models, e.g. in inexpensive box spring beds, often have hollows after just two to three years or provide insufficient support for the body. The supposed bargain then turns out to be an expensive bad buy.
However, a good bed is not that expensive if you convert it to the period of use. With a service life of ten years, a good mattress at a price of around 900 euros costs the equivalent of less than 25 cents per night. Even the cost of a high-quality bed system is quickly put into perspective with this approach. After all, you will spend a total of around 25,000 hours in your bed over an assumed ten-year period of use. Anyone who forgoes quality without necessity is saving in the wrong place!
