Features of an optimal summer blanket

Great heat during the day, which cools down only a little in the evening, can have a serious impact on sleep. The more important is then to have the right summer comforter with the appropriate product properties at hand. For warm nights it is recommended to choose an airy and light blanket with a low heat output. It should be breathable, optimally remove moisture and heat by allowing air to circulate. If it cools down at night or in the early hours of the morning, you should still be sufficiently warmed - especially with open windows and possible drafts.

What is the thermal performance of a summer comforter?

In summer, it is sufficient if comforters have only a low heat output. Our summer quilts have 1 and 2 heat points, which corresponds to a heat level of "summer light" and "light". Which filling is suitable for summer quilts?

• Eiderdown: As a summer comforter, an eiderdown comforter lies on you like a breath of nothing. With a fill weight starting at 416 g, it's fantastically light and won't let you cool down. It doesn't get more luxurious than this.
  
  
• Down: Down stands for pure lightness and is one of the most popular fillings. In a summer heat level, a summer down comforter inspires with floating airiness and is also suitable for allergy sufferers.
  
  Natural fibers have great material properties that provide an excellent sleeping climate on warm summer nights. Virgin sheep's wool, camel hair or cashmere convince with advantages directly from nature. For all those who value vegan comforters or are allergic to animal hair, there are animal-free summer comforters.
  
  
• Virginsheep's wool: Especially on tropical nights, virgin wool offers the very best moisture management properties. It not only absorbs moisture like cotton, but also releases it back into the environment very quickly. The result is an outstanding sleeping climate.

• Camel hair: Camels are exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations in the desert. During the day, the heat ranges from 30 to 40 °C, while at night the thermometer drops to as low as -10 °C. The hair of the camels plays a key role in ensuring a comfortable sleeping environment. The animals' hair plays a key role in compensating for these temperature differences. The excellent properties of the hair can also be used as a comforter filling for a summer comforter.

• Cotton: With a summer comforter made of cotton, you are always right. The all-rounder gives you a pleasant sleep on warm nights, because the cotton perfectly absorbs the released moisture, is easy to clean and durable.

• Bamboo: Bamboo is a rapidly renewable raw material and ensures optimal moisture management. This plant-based raw material is chemically processed and thus offers the advantages of both worlds. Bamboo can naturally absorb moisture quickly; further enhancement makes the fabric easy to care for and use as a filling.

• Silk: But our favorite for summer is a silk comforter. It is perfect for the warm season. Light, cool flowing silk is a classic summer blanket. Their breathability, very good moisture absorption and pleasant coolness means that you don't even start to sweat. For carefree dreams on warm nights.

• Organic-Vegan-Bio: In our product range you can also get summer comforters filled with organic cotton, organic virgin sheep's wool, organic goose down and feathers or with Swiss stone pine flakes. All comforters are GOTS certified.
  
  
• Fiber: Textile fibers or hollow fibers have an optimal temperature and moisture management. High-tech fibers stand for high sleeping comfort in summer, such as the cellulose-based Lyocell (TENCEL TM) fibers or the billerbeck fibers AIRSOFT®, AIRTEC® and AIRMAGIC®.
