Kids pillows
Rest gently - children's pillow for sweet dreams
Children process what they have experienced during the day while they sleep. In order to be able to regenerate optimally during nap time and at night, children not only need a mattress suitable for children and an age-appropriate children's duvet, but also a high-quality children's pillow.
Since children up to the age of 6 have a particularly sensitive head, children's pillows should meet some criteria and special features to ensure a restful sleep and quiet nights. In our online shop you will find a large selection of different children's pillows for babies, toddlers and growing children. Here you can easily buy the ideal children's pillow for your child online.
What should you look out for in children's pillows?
Pillows that are too high or thick, too firm or too large can have a negative effect on the sleep of babies and children. With babies, a pillow that is too firm can even lead to deformations of the head, as their head is still very soft and flexible. The shoulders and head of small children and babies are almost the same width, which is why the child's head does not need any special support when sleeping sideways. This is why we only stock flat pillows in our range, to ensure that the child lies as flat as possible during sleep. In addition to the height, the material is also important for the choice of an optimal children's pillow. A pillow for children should be breathable and be able to compensate moisture and temperature well. In addition, a child's pillow should definitely be easily washable, because sweating, salivating or burping can quickly soil a pillow.
For what age are children's pillows suitable?
In our range we have children's pillows in the Kids and Junior categories. Our Kids pillows are specially designed to meet the needs of babies and toddlers in the first 36 months of life. In the junior segment, we offer children's pillows for older children from the age of 3.
The majority of our children's pillows grow with the child. This means that, if necessary, filling material can be removed from the pillow and put back in at a later date if the child wants a slightly higher flat pillow. Our range also includes a refill pack of pillow filling that can be added individually as the child grows.
Which pillow filling is available for children?
We offer children's pillows with different filling materials in our online shop.
Children's down pillows:
Children's pillows made of down are particularly light, soft and exceedingly cuddly. Down is an excellent heat accumulator and can dissipate moisture well. Therefore, down is ideal for all babies and children who sweat quickly. Since children's pillows do not yet have to have a supporting function, the filling of our pillows for children and babies consists of either 100% soft and high-quality goose down. If your child is already a little older, it can also sleep wonderfully with a down pillow with 50% down and 50% feathers.
Children's fibre pillows:
Very similar to down pillows, our children's pillows with a fiber filling feel great. They are also light, soft and cuddly and thus provide a particularly pleasant lying comfort. In addition, children's pillows with fiber filling regulate temperature and moisture and are characterized by high breathability and durability. As fibre pillows can be washed at up to 60 °C without any problems, and even up to 95 °C depending on the filling material, our children's pillows with fibre filling are ideal for allergy sufferers.
What is the cover of children's pillows made of?
The covers of our pillows for babies and children are either made of the finest down batiste (100% cotton), fine satin (100% cotton) or velvety soft microfibre fabric (100% polyester).
In which sizes are children's pillows available?
Our range includes small baby pillows measuring 35 x 40 cm as well as children's pillows in the standard size of 40 x 60 cm.
How do I wash a baby and children's pillow correctly?
How and at what temperature a children's pillow is washed depends largely on the filling material of the pillow. Please also note the respective care label on the product.
Down pillows should only be washed with liquid down detergent, wool detergent or the billerbeck Blue Wash-Egg, fibre pillows either with liquid mild detergent or the billerbeck Blue Wash-Egg. Please do not wash down and fibre pillows with full detergent and do not use fabric softener.
Check the pillow for possible damage before washing and note the capacity of the washing machine. It is best to wash children's pillows in the easy-care or delicate wash programme with a maximum of 800 rpm. If available, activate the water-plus function of your washing machine.
For down pillows, we recommend a washing temperature of 40 °C to a maximum of 60 °C. Fibre pillows can be washed at 60 °C, for some filling materials even up to 95 °C.
After washing, the children's pillows should definitely be dried in the dryer. Please do not dry the pillows on the heater or in the sun. Choose a gentle dryer programme that does not get too hot.
Our tip: In addition to the children's pillow, place a damp towel in the dryer drum. This prevents the dryer from switching off too early in the automatic programme.
Remove down and fibre pillows from the tumble dryer every 30 minutes during the drying process and shake them up gently. This will prevent heat from building up in the pillow. Repeat this process until the pillow is completely dry through. This may take several drying cycles. Before covering the pillow again, please allow it to steam out thoroughly, down pillows even for several hours.
